Some of our products images are gone, it was uploaded and showing correctly previously but now it’s now gone. (looks like the image never uploaded).

We are very certain the images were showing correctly, so question:
    1. is it possible that the images in woocommerce single product page using a external url for image?
    2. any mechanism to delete some old product photos? (about a year ago)
    3. does the sizes, url format or other possibility that could remove the images on it’s own?

    Thanks

    Hi @dsychung

    Thank you for reaching out!

    1. By default, WooCommerce does not support using external images as product images.
    2. You will need to delete the product photos by navigating to the Edit product page for the respective products.
    3. Sizes or URL format shouldn’t remove the images.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Before you start

    • First, please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site.
    • Second, I would suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community, and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.
    • Thank you!

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

Now I understand that all images within woocommerce will have to be inside the same server, this becomes a wierd case, and I’m affraid it’s not able to replicate the issue too.

Because only a few images(don’t know what in common) are missing.
And even when i switched to another theme, it’s still missing.
Hence, some of the product images’s are literally disappeared, because it’s not in the media, also it’s not linked to the product single page as well.

Is there any setting that delete or wipe out some media without human exexcution, or cron jobs?

    Any known issue like this?

    Hi @dsychung

I’d recommend installing WP Crontrol to check if there are any unusual cron jobs running. No default settings wipe out media without human intervention.

BTW, have you imported your site content from elsewhere recently?

In order for us to get a better idea of your setup, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
