Product Sorting Not Working

Hello,

I am experiencing an dd error where the product sorting I choose is not working. I’ve set product sorting to be descending in price, from high to low through the customizer.

The setting is properly reflected and the box shows SORT BY PRICE HIGH TO LOW, but it doesn’t actually do this.

The products are sorted randomly with variable prices first, and then going low to high.

I understand that you are having a problem with the product sorting feature on your WooCommerce store, where you’ve set it by price from high to low, but it is sorting randomly, is that correct?

I’d recommend running a full conflict test to identify the problem. Here are the steps:

Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront. If the issue is gone, it indicates that there is a conflict with your current theme.
If it’s still having the issue, disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.
To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

If you’re not comfortable doing all of this on the live version of your site, you can create a staging environment using WP-STAGING.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, can you please get back to us with the following:

System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

Thanks for sharing the above.

I have gone to your site, and see what you mean, as the default sorting is set to high to low, however the sorting on the page is indeed inconsistent:

Please clarify if this inconsistency occurs with only High to low, or if this issue is present with all product sorting options?

This is not something I am able to reproduce on my test site, as the products are being displayed according to the set product sorting option.

This could be the cause of caching and I’d suggest navigating to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following to see if this makes any difference?

WooCommerce transients – Clear
Expired transients – Clear
Clear template cache – Clear

Next, please clear your browser cache and see if this resolves the issue.
