product_category wrong import
-
Hi Dears,
I use WP Ultimate Importer CSV to import Woocommerce products.
It works but also assign the default “No Category” to imported products.
Thanks.

Hi @giovannifour The reported issue not occurring at our end, product categories are importing correctly without assigning the “No Category / Uncategorized” term. You can check the same here https://demo.smackcoders.com/ultimatecsvimporter/wp-admin/
We request you to share the Video record of import process and the sample CSV with us.
As we are not receiving any response, considering this as resolved
Hi Dears,
Excuse I answer late but the problem is not resolved.
The process also assigns the “no category” category, and none is set as primary.
All products in the front are displayed under the slug /no-category/Thanks
Hi @giovannifour,
Thanks for reaching out again. I have marked the topic as unresolved. Can you share your import file (CSV) and the screen recording of your issue? That will be helpful for us to address it.
Hi,
Just following up on this.
We’re still waiting for your import file (CSV) and a short screen recording of the issue so we can properly investigate it. You can share the CSV file and recording via a private link (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) if needed. Once we have that, we’ll look into it right away.
Looking forward to your response.
Hi Dear,
the recording screen is not necessary because the import process does not report any anomalies.
I remember you that importing work fine but with a problem … the problem is that all product are also inserted in “Uncategorized” category. I remember you that your demo site works.
PLease check the import file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zazsiKZW8f93Xrc7pndYt40ZaxZk3ZQA/view?usp=sharing
Thanks
Hi,
We tested the import file you shared on our demo site, and the import worked correctly. You can check the result here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cxv9gcEeLOoeVngK6XB7NmfblOnSX5zW/viewBy default, WooCommerce assigns the “Uncategorized” category when a product is created manually without specifying a category. However, when importing with our plugin, the category will only be assigned if it is explicitly mentioned in the import file.
Please try importing again using the latest version of the plugin and let us know if you still face any issues.
Hi,
the same is for exactly in my site … with the only difference that all products are also associated with the category without category in addition to the one defined in the import file (so 2 categories).
Maybe a setting different from your demo site that change your script behaviour?
I have already imported using last 7.39 version. Woocomerce and WordPress last. PHP 8.3
Thanks.

Hello, I’m following up on this ticket because I’m currently experiencing the same issue. When I import my files containing products with a defined category, it still assigns them to the “Uncategorized” category.
