You don’t need paid version for this.
Open admin side -> WooCommerce(in left menu) -> Product Filters . This will open Settings page where you need to set Products holder = .content.col-sm-9 > div.row
Paid plugin has a lot of nice features but main functionality is working in both version. You just need to configurate it correctly.

There should be a “Products holder” field? I don’t see it, below some screens of my product filter settings:

Instead of ul.products set there .content.col-sm-9 > div.row
