Progress spinner gets stuck, post does not finish saving

I have been using your excellent plugin for years now, and this is the first time I have run into this issue. I can’t figure out why it’s happening.

Sometimes, when I am working on a page, maybe editing content, or changing settings on a block, I save the post, and I see that in the right sidebar in the block editor, the dark transparent overlay covers the permalink manager section, a dotted progress spinner shows (so far this behavior is normal), but then it gets stuck and never goes away. I have waited 5 minutes, and it stays like that. If I try to reload the front end of the post, that is unable to load. I end up having to reload the admin page. Usually, it has actually saved the edits I made, but for some reason could not finish and disengage. After this, the front end works properly again.
