Protect Specific Folder

Hello ,
I Created a new Folder called “protecteduploads”
i will use it to upload dome files which i don’t want to be seen for public and i will use this new folder path in a password protected page.

my question is .. how can i set a specific password for this new folder using htaccess file ?
if you have any ideas please tell me .
