We had an applicant reach out to us with some security concerns. She googled her name, and found the pdf of her resume in google images. When you hoover over this image, it traces this back to our website. She then emailed us concerned that we weren’t keeping her information private.

What she was implying is that we aren’t appropriately protecting applicants data, which is troublesome. What most concerns me is the Voluntary Demographic Information section, this is something we, as an organization, have to protect.

Can we get a better understanding from WordPress how this is information is housed? And whether they are following any security benchmarks with the personal data their job application stores?

This is NOT a WordPress issue rather it involves several issues in combination.

One issue is with legacy code of Job Manager and the other has to do with how your site is structured for indexing of your content. Some basic SEO practices will help, but not totally eliminate the issue. A work around involves modifying your .htaccess file to remove the ability to access the files unless your logged-in.

Contacting you via email on your specific case.
