Public Uploader: Additional Email Notification?

Thank you. I am setting up bbpress as an open, no register, forum. I want to allow photos but I need help from other moderators to approve the photos first, for security reasons.

The Public Uploader has been extremely popular so far, users love uploading pictures of their dogs this way.

I am having a problem inserting uploaded NextGEN gallery images into existing bbpress posts. The NextGEN Gallery – Attach to Post only attaches whole galleries, as far as I can tell, to the post. I have yet to figure out how to insert a single image this way.

When adding an image to an existing bbpress post I have tried to use the Add Media to insert an image and select NextGEN Gallery first, however nothing shows up to insert.

If I then select Insert Media, then reselect NextGEN Gallery, the uploaded images in the gallery show up. However when I select an image and insert it into the post as anything other than thumbnail (for instance Center and Full Size or Singlepic) it displays something like this in the post: [singlepic id=92 w= h= float=center] and not the image. Obviously the width and height are missing. I can only successfully insert thumbnails like this.

If I then go back to Insert Media I can either upload from my computer or use images only from the Media Library. It appears that the only way I can get the original Public uploaded images from the NextGEN gallery into the Media Library is to save them down to my computer from the NextGEN gallery and then upload them again.

At that point I can either insert the photo directly as I upload (and have the tools to adjust the size etc) or I can then use them from the Media Library. I haven’t quite figured out why NextGEN gallery images do not show up in the Media Library until I do this second upload. I also don’t understand why I can only seem to manipulate Media Library images in terms of size etc and not do the same with NextGEN images.

Is this particular problem only apply to bbpress posts? So perhaps there is an issue with this plugin?

But despite these problem having the users use the Public Uploader makes it a lot easier to get images and I am grateful for that.

I am sorry to drop so much baggage on you. I only had a suspicion that it was the images I was uploading that were the issue. But you are correct, the whole package is an integration with different elements, not just the uploader.

I am finding work-a-rounds to speed up my tasks. It’s just not something I can just hand off to the moderators, it’s going to be all my headache.

Again, thank you for developing this nice plug-in. It means a world of difference when managing a whole bunch of user images!
