While it’s not currently possible to Publicize Custom Post Types, it is something that we’re looking into for a future Jetpack release. Thanks for the suggestion!
I concur with this sentiment. Publicize Custom Post Types would make my life easier without adding even more plugins.
Jetpack publish wil be the absolute blow my mind if that add almost all social media to publish automatic on:
We have already Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Thumbr.
But we have also
Google +
myspace

Pinterest
StumbleUpon

Hmm – well that seems a little strange. I’m currently using the Pitch Theme which provides a number of custom post types (Projects, Features, Clients). I can see two of those post types listed as check options under Publicize –> Sharing Settings –> Show buttons on. However, Custom Post Types that I have added through my own plugin aren’t showing.
I’m still relatively new to WordPress and plugin dev: anyone else able to reproduce this for Pitch + JetPack, and figure out how/ why Pitch’s CPT’s are listed?
PS – And +1 to Google Plus as an available option

OK, so while the following solution doesn’t result in the CPT’s being listed in the JetPack admin sharing settings, it does mean that when you create a new CPT post entry the Sharing Metabox is enabled, with the “Show likes” and “Show sharing buttons” check options:

(If you look under the jetpack plugin folders, you’ll see that sharedaddy is the sharing sub-module).
PS – Also note that although the options are shown under Sharing settings for the Pitch CPT’s, toggling those check boxes doesn’t appear to do anything
