Published articles read rights

    We are trying to give contributors read access rights to published articles but we can’t do it.
    The only way to allow them to read these articles is to give them edit rights but that’s not what we want.
    How can we do it please ?

    Can you explain more “we can’t do it”? Did you face any error or you are not sure how to do it?

    no in fact these published articles are note visible in the article list by contributors users.

    They only view them if the “modify” riight is set on this article ? Even if the read right is set to active or if the account is set on this article.

    Hi, ok. In the next screen you can see a published article in which contributors read permission is set to Active. But in this configuration a contributor user can not see this article. He can only see draft article.

    BUT if I set the modify persmission to active this user will be able to see and modify the artcile.

    This problem is that we juste want to give them read permission and not modify.

    Note the the problem is the same if I spcify the user’s account.

    @josesfr From your screenshot, you enabled for contributor but for “Read”. Read means reading the post in frontend.

    Try to assign enabled for contributor but for “Edit”. Edit means editing the post in backend (wp-admin).

    OK I think I’ve understood ! In fact the read permission is used only if in the internet site (frontend) we provide a connection function and a specific user could connect with it’s acount (so as a contributor) and we could give him permission to read or not a specific article ? Is that right ?
