• New to wordpress and need some help.

I using using *all* of the default settings, having opened my account last night. The only setting i have changed is the theme, which i “saved and published” on the theme page. When i view the page preview it looks fine, however, when i view the the public site, only the default wp theme is shown.

I have trawled the wp help and support pages to no avail.

I would appreciate some practical advice.

    Thanks in advance.

Got it. wasn’t sure it was on the correct forum.

First, the Admin panel’s Appearance-Theme page. It will look like this:
    http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/images/9/9a/themes.png

The Theme you want to see on the public site should be the one at the top. If it is not, click the Activate link below the Theme you want to use.

That is all there is to do to activate a Theme.

If the public site still shows the old Theme, it is possible that you are not seeing “reality” due to Caching by your browser or your Internet provider, since you indicate that you have not installed any WordPress Caching plugins. Try clearing the cache on your browser. Try a different browser. Or try cross-browser testing like Adobe BrowserLab

Thanks. I tried all of these, but to no avail. However, it seems i did stumble upon a solution by changing the url in the (removing wordpress text) in the General tab.

    Thanks for your response though.
