Publishing To Groups

    Hi,

    I was looking at your plugin and it seems like exactly what I need, except without supporting groups. In fact, I’m a little confused about what’s going on here. In the FAQ, it says:

    How can I publish to a group?

    Also not possible, at least not the expected way without additional “published via Application XY” notice.

    What do you mean by this? I would be fine with that notice. Does this plugin provide that functionality or not?

    Hi sevandyk,

    Until today, I have not found a way to “share” a link on Facebook groups via the official API. It is possible to make a simpe “post”, but the result is not quite the same (e.g. your readers will be informed that the post was made by your application, not by yourself).

    As a consequence, this plugin does not support posting to groups. But there are some other plugins that will do that for you (have a look at http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/add-link-to-facebook/).

    Ah. Thanks then!

    I’ve looked at that other one, but it’s so clunky and buggy I just want to throw my laptop out the window. Even with the API bit, I think that would be fine.

    Oh well. I’ll keep looking.

    (One of my fellow developers, who works with the Facebook API, says she thinks it was written by a drunken blind gnome. More and more, I’m inclined to agree.)
