Hello Support,

We are using the free version of the plugin. When the capabilities plugin tells us there are say for example 10 administrators and we want to find out which accounts they are by clicking on the ’10’, the operation times out. We installed the plugins Index WP MySQL for Speed and Index WP Users for speed to try and see if they resolve the issue but unfortunately, no.

There are 500K users on the site and the size of our usermeta table is 18 million rows. Even with the plugin, the query to see which accounts have which roles will have to go through 750K+ records.

Is there a more efficient solution to fix the application timeout issue?

Thanks for using PublishPress Capabilities.

With that many users, strange things start happening to the WordPress core UI, even without plugins like ours.

We have some advice for large sites here: https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/large-site-limitations/. I don’t know what server and database set-up but with 500k users, you may better off with using code solutions, rather than the WordPress UI, to solve these issues. Tools like the WP CLI are designed to handle this kind of scale.
