    Hi there,

I’ve tested this plugin to consider moving to your line of products from a competitor

I note that currently there is no option upon reactivation of the plugin to remove all additions to the database made by capability manager.

This would be a nice addition before we move across.
Do you have a list of additions / locations you make that we can purge should we choose move to your product so we can move away neatly in years to cone if we choose to

@chrisscottuk The only settings CME stores which continues to have an effect following deactivation is WordPress role definitions. These changes can be purged prior to deactivation using the Backup Tool in Tools > Capability Manager. You have three available actions:

    • Roll back to the last role backup that you manually triggered
    • Roll back to the role configuration prior to CME activation (“Restore initial backup”)
    • Roll back to the your site’s original role configuration at fresh install (“Reset to WordPress defaults”)

Note that the “Reset to defaults” is not usually a good solution because it also clears any capabilities added by other plugins prior to CME’s activation.

The other data left in the database following CME activation is also within the WordPress options table, identified by the following option_name:

    The role backups described above:

    “capsman_backup_initial”
    “capsman_backup_initial_datestamp”
    “capsman_backup”
    “capsman_backup_datestamp”

Selection (when CME is active) of types / taxonomies for which distinct capabilities should be auto-defined:
    “cme_enabled_post_types”
    “cme_enabled_taxonomies”
    “cme_detailed_taxonomies”
