Put new html in header

    Ok, I’m reaching out here. I made a social icon set and I want to put it in the header. You can see it here. Of course the grey is going to go away – that’s just so I can see it.

    I removed the search bar and you can see the code on the page. I’ve made a lot of changes to the twenty eleven theme but I’m scared to try this.

    Would somebody please help me with this? You would be a great help.

    Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes.

    Boy or girl? (sorry – couldn’t resist). Where will you be adding these icons? To the upper part of each page? If so, you need to start looking at your child theme’s header.php template file.

    Whoa, I take that back. I have never seen this effect. It works great in Firefox and IE but totally freaks out in Chrome and Safari.

    That is wierd – I have no idea how to fix that…

    Okay, here’s the thing…
    On line 530 of your style.css (parent theme) you’ve got #branding img with width:100%. Since your images are also inside branding-div width:100% also applies to them. And that is the root of your problem in Chrome.

    Basically to fix this, all you have to do is to change width and height in div.img from auto to 48px, which is the size of your images.
