• Thanks, first step work. Code is very simple, it is, now I simply add shortcode, and beautiful document link appear.
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/clever-document-insert-with-mla/

Next step is, “how to add QR-code”?

QR-code generating is easy, simply take one of million qr-code tool and transform URL to QR.

Mainly, [mla_gallery ids = 123… ] make this style link mypage.com/documentname and this is mla-gallery standard prefs. In my case this is modified and looks good: http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/elkesan-oy-tuotteet-ulko-ovelle/. Code is simple, photo is JIG and documentlink is [mla_gallery ids = 123 mla_markup = myown]. As you click link under photo you see it. There is “lue lisää ….” (read more). This open page, eg this: http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/ (OF course this page need editing, but it works…. )

So, I want URL-QR-to this page. Generating QR is not question. This link mla_gallery ids = 123… open page mypage.com/documentname, as you see, example http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/. THIS page contain information I want print to QR-code.

Way 1: Easiest way is, simply, make QR-code http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/ and print it to paper. This is “direct way”.

Way 2: This I want, is this possible? This is “undirect”.
    1) I make any link-table: and there is database of qr-codes. It is: I want add QR-code to page http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/. URL-qr is short: mypage.com/qr123 and this is order of the qr. It is: open url mypage.com/qr123 —> database-engine search database and transform “qr123” …. —> http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/.

    2) This is possible manually: “mypage.com/qr123.html” is automatic forward using html-technology. So, allways when I add new qr, I must make new file qr123.hml, qr124.html etc etc. Maybe not clever.

    3) any MLA-jinx. Eg. “mypage.com/MLA-QR/123” and this solution “123” is MLA document id. (This is quite clever reason possible make easy qr-code to every document added via MLA….)

    4) any other way?

Direct link is not good idea. It works, but is quite non-stable, and if make any hard modification on page, qr-codes breaks.

    Undirect is better.

MLA-id is quite good, but only problem is: “is this document qr-linked”? So, if I make any qr-code, I have no registry of qr-codes. … there is no information “this MLA-doc-id is linked in other place!”

Maybe any system is, “open document preference-page in MLA” (media – mla – doc -edit). And, there is any additional plugin “make qr”.

Clicking this “make qr” put visible url to any place, eg. MLA document list: Clicking this “make qr”, then MLA document list is column “URL”, and it url is “mypage.com/MLA#123”, short url-code with any link to MLA document id. This url open just this “http://demotunnus.com/elkesan/d10000678b/” page.

Still, please notify, really not need it physical QR, it is most easy make it.But, “how to manage”, it is problem. Direct link to MLA-document-page is not good, no-one can manage it. Any mla-shortcode-jinx is better reason if make hard modifications, typically MLA-document id is fixed….

    Have any idea?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Good to hear from you again, and thanks for the link to your JIG/MLA gallery page. It looks very good!

I want to make sure I understand your questions. Do you want to add a QR Code to each entry in the “Elkesan Oy tuotteet ulko-ovelle” gallery display? Or, do you want to add a QR Code somewhere on the individual product pages? It looks like you want to have a QR Code in each gallery entry that contains the URL for the individual product page; is that right?

There are several QR Code plugins in the repository, such as QR Code Tag By Dennis D. Spreen. It looks like the best solution is to use a plugin such as this one to generate the QR Code when the gallery or product page is displayed. Let me know if you think that will work. I believe there is a way to do this and I can investigate further if my understanding is correct.

It has been over a month since my last post in this topic. I hope you have found a QR code solution that works for your application.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions about using QR codes with MLA.
