    Hi,

I converted an image using both your plugin and the online tool Convertio:

    https://convertio.co/png-webp/

The one converted using your plugin appears blurry where there is text in the image compared to one converted using the online tool. This occurs even when using 100% quality setting in the plugin.

Please check the images at this link showing the original image, one converted using the plugin and one converted using the online tool:

    https://easyupload.io/m/uqb7lm

The blurriness is noticeable so please try to improve this in a future update of the plugin.

    Hello @nabeelshikder,

    Thanks for your message.

This is probably due to the libraries used and I’m afraid it will be hard to change. In the vast majority of cases, I do not notice any difference in the quality of the images. Perhaps this is due to the way this image is coded – it’s really hard for me to say.

Please also note that the weight of the image converted by the external tool is 70 kB, and converted by my plugin (using 100% quality) is 36 kB. It is practically twice the weight.

In order to maintain the best image quality, I encourage you to try the AVIF format. I checked this image, and after converting to AVIF there are no problems with blurring the text, and the image in AVIF format is even lighter than WebP.

Here you can see an image in AVIF format (converted using 100% quality – the file weighs only 21 kB):

    Best,
    Mateusz
