Query loop custom parameter

Hello,
I’m just found your plugin, and wanted to know if the query loop will do what I need.

What I’m trying to do is this.
I have hierarchy enabled on my page/posts, so every post will be a child of a respective parent page.

I then want on the parent page, want to display with the loop all posts that are tied to this page. I’m looking at the parameter setting, and see there is a parent options. But it seems I have to manually select a parent page. What I’m hoping I could do is have it see the current page ID, then use that as a variable to pull all posts with that have that parent ID. Is it possible to use more of a query function here? Or is hard coding/selecting the parent page manually the only way to do this type of filtering?
