• Hi!

I’m writing to you today because a recent tweet from a SEO expert (https://x.com/dejanseo/status/1960829554215542856) raised an important concern. He pointed out that your plugin might be inadvertently blocking the new generation of legitimate AI web crawlers.

As a fully satisfied user of your plugin, this prompted me to seek clarification. I am concerned about the potential blocking of key user agents such as Google-Extended, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot.

Blocking these crawlers could negatively impact a site’s visibility in AI-powered search and even block legitimate human visitors referred from these AI services, which hurts lead generation.

Could you please provide some guidance on the following points?

    1. Is your team aware of this potential conflict between the honeypot method and legitimate AI crawlers?
    2. Does WP Armour have a built-in mechanism to differentiate between spam bots and these beneficial AI agents?

    Thank you for your time

    Best regards,

    Pierre

    Hi @pierrr,

Seems like there has been some confusion here. First our plugin doesn’t block any bots including AI to crawl the website. Our plugin only blocks the submission when the Bots tries to submit the form.

However, we have option in Extended version where Bots can be blocked based on IP, those can be activated once there are X numbers of submission. But even in this case, i believe beneficial AI agents don’t submit the forms and should occure this case.

    Thanks
