    Hello,

In the WP menu, the plugin shows 2 options:

    • Cloud [new]
    • Local [old]

My question is whether or not the “Local” option will remain a part of the plugin in the long term. Is it planned on being phased out, with only “Cloud” option remaining?

    Hi @specialk

    I hope you’re well today!

    That’s a fair question.

For now, there are no plans to remove the old engine in any foreseeable future. I can’t say for sure that it will stay there “forever” but for now, there are no established plans to remove it anytime soon.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Thanks Adam, I would hate to have to find an alternative link checker or fork this one. For my small army of websites, cloud service is absolutely *not* needed (or wanted) for anything, especially checking for broken links. The original “local” functionality working great for years now.

    Hi @specialk

    That’s understandable.

Like I said, it may not be “forever” but I got confirmation from our Broken Link Checker Team that we are keeping it, as far as it’s convenient for many people.

It may change in (rather distant) future but so far there are no plans at all to remove it.

    Best regards,
    Adam
