Question about multiple blogs

Quick question about multiple blogs. I’m currently using the “Spun” theme on my site and I’m finding that people get confused by the layout. I want to change it so that on the homepage, there is several different categories (eg. photography, videography, web design, etc.) that when clicked on will take the user to a mini blog that I can update separately from the others.
I’m wondering if I need to install multiple blogs to do this. Alternatively if there is a theme that can accomplish this, please let me know.
