    Hi,

Sorry if my question seems rudimentary, but I’m kind of a newbie to the WordPress platform. Long story short – I ditched this WYSIWYG web editor in favor of building a site with WordPress. Before I download a theme though, given my little HTML experience, how much can I edit without coding. I found a beautiful theme, but certain sections need to be flipped and adjusted before it fits my needs – are these all things that I can accomplish? And if so, does it require extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS etc? Or am I totally missing the point of themes in the first place?

    Thanks a lot.

It would depend on how many modifications that need to be made, but in general, yes, a knowledge of CSS and HTML is necessary. If you downloaded a theme from WP.org, we can further assist you; otherwise, you should speak to whomever you obtained your theme from. There are also many many tutorials about CSS and HTML out there.
