Glad to help:
1) “Are there plans to use another login method rather than allowing users to use the main login path?”
Not really. USP is focused on front-end form post submissions. There are other plugins that focus on other tasks, like changing the login URL and similar.
2) “can a template be created with “set fields” using WPBakery so as to set the format?”
It’s an interesting idea, but not a current feature of the plugin.
I hope this information is useful for you. Let me know if any further questions, feedback, etc. Glad to help anytime.
Hi,
Thanks but the idea of allowing users to login using standard access are too scary and on top of that, I use WF 2FA adding to the user access issues 😉
Perhaps, but it’s better to use dedicated/focused plugins for different types of functionality. Just cleaner/less bloat that way.
Thanks for that,
One more thing if I may ..
On a test post, it’s set to the admin, not the poster?
Yes that is the default. Depending on theme support, there are other configurations possible. You can explore them under “Users” in the plugin settings.
Thanks,
Under the “Assigned Author”, it does show the site Admin
My point being, should the actual submitted post be set to the submitter so that when they login, they have editing right.
Also, under the WP Users, a submitters email (which was set in USP), is not being saved so that they may log in to edit their posts.
Maybe have this back to front? 😉
Glad to help:
1) “should the actual submitted post be set to the submitter so that when they login, they have editing right.”
For that to work, the user must be logged in during post submission, and the setting “Registered Username” is enabled.
2) “under the WP Users, a submitters email (which was set in USP), is not being saved so that they may log in to edit their posts.”
The only place the email field is saved by USP is attached to the submitted post as a custom field. When the user is logged in and “Registered Username” is enabled (as per #1 above), the user’s registered email will be associated with the post.
