    Hello,

    My question is this: does shortpixel assume the default compression that WordPress uses?

    As I understand it, the logic is as follows:

    1. User -> upload image
    2. WP -> compress & resize
    3. WP -> generate thumbnails

    Would Shortpixel replace steps 2 and 3? It wouldn’t make much sense to compress an image that WordPress has already compressed initially, essentially a double process.

    1. User -> upload image
    2. Shortpixel -> compress & resize
    3. Shortpixel -> generate thumbnails

    Hi @yuliandesign ,

    Thank you for your message and for using ShortPixel! 🙂

    ShortPixel doesn’t replace steps 2 and 3 in your list, those are still handled by WordPress itself, including the basic compression it performs.

    WordPress applies only very basic compression and not true optimization. After the image is uploaded and the thumbnails are generated, our plugin optimizes both the original images and the thumbnails using advanced algorithms to achieve the best possible file size with the best possible quality.

    All the best,
