Questions about Data sampling

    Hi Hector,

    while trying to optimize my webite, I found that I didn’t use your optimisation tools up to now. So, in order to understand correctly how “Data sampling” is working, I have two questions:

    1. When I enable data sampling with a sampling rate of 10, does that mean, that the amount of data stored in the database will be reduced by a factor of 10? Because there will be only one record being stored instead of 10?

    2. Is it possible to switch data sampling on and off without loosing any old data? Does WPP handle both data formats in the same way?

    Hey @tooni,

    1. Yep, that’s basically it.
    2. Yes. Existing data won’t be altered by enabling/disabling the Data Sampling feature so feel free to experiment with it as much as you need to.

    In the meantime I also enabled the caching option, which resulted in a fantastic improvement. Should have done this before…
    Together with data sampling it will be perfect.
