quick checkout button

Hi, Im using the quick checkout button on the product pages, this adds the product and takes the user directly to the checkout page, however if you happen to refresh the page or the page reloads for any reason then the product is added to the cart each time the page reloads so if I refresh the page 5 times for example the product will keep adding in quantities so the product will be added 5 times. this is the url that is generated when landing on the cart page “checkout/?add-to-cart=1618&quantity=1” is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
