    Hi team,

    Quick question, when exactly do segments update? Is it in real time, or on a schedule (e.g., every 6 hours, 12 hours, once per day)? Just trying to better understand the timing on our end.

    Hi there,

    Great question, understanding how segments update can definitely help with planning campaigns and automations.

    In Omnisend, there are two types of segment behavior depending on the conditions you use:

    1. Segments based on specific events or conditions (e.g., Placed order, Clicked campaign link, etc.) update in real time, as soon as the data is synced from your store.
    2. Segments based on time-based conditions (e.g., Placed order in the last 30 days) update once per day at midnight, according to your Omnisend account time zone.

    It’s also worth noting that the overall processing time can depend on the number of contacts being evaluated, especially for larger audiences.
