Quick Question: What does this plugin replace?

    I know this plugin replaces the core files, but is anything done to the database, or the database tables are left alone, except the record that holds the WP version number I guess.

    The plugin itself does not do anything in the database (apart from saving its own options).
    Depending on WP Relase, the core update may make a change in the database after the installation. But that would also be the case with a manual update via ftp.
