The quiz I have created is not showing the correct total points at the end. For each of the six questions, there are answers that have a point value of anywhere from 1-5. So the highest score someone could get is 30, yet when you finish the quiz it shows that the score is out of 90. I cannot find a way to change this total score.

    Dear @erinmunson,

    Thank you for the topic.

We have checked and noticed that you have chosen the Checkbox (Multiple) question type for the quiz.
In order to achieve your desired result, please change the question type to Radio and choose one correct answer for the questions.

    See the screenshot: https://ibb.co/Jq8hkz1

Please check this and let us know about the outcome.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jasmine,

Yes, I did choose the multiple checkbox option because people filling out the form have the ability to choose more than one option. It’s not the type of quiz where there is just one correct answer. I want people to choose one of five different answers and depending on the answer they give, they would get a score at the end and that score should be out of 30 total possible points.

If there isn’t a way to change the total possible points, is there a way to just remove the points being displayed at the end of the quiz? Instead, can we just choose to have a certain message display depending on what someone’s score is?

    Thanks,
    Erin

    Dear @erinmunson,

    Thank you for your reply.

I want to mention, that, the Radio is the most appropriate and ideal question type, particularly for your case.
It is a multiple-choice question type with the help of which you achieve your desired result.

Please note, that when you choose the “By weight/points” suboption for the “Calculate the score” option, the features connected with correctness will be disabled/ignored.

So, you can go to the Quizzes > particular quiz > Results Settings tab and choose the By weight/points for the Calculate the score option.
It will calculate the score based on Answers points and Questions points.

    See the screenshot: https://ibb.co/JqZtrVf

In conclusion, in order to achieve your desired scenario, you need to choose the Radio question type and the By weight/points calculation method for the quiz.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jasmine,

I tried the settings you suggested and that still doesn’t get me what I am looking for. I can’t set the quiz to Radio because then that requires me to select one correct answer; any of the answers for this quiz are technically correct; the quiz taker just gets a different number of points for the answer they choose.

Also, I tried checking the “hide quiz score” box and it’s still showing me the score at the end.

Is this something that I can do with this tool? I have the paid version of the tool and I was really hoping that this would mean the quiz would work the way I need it to.

    Thank you,
    Erin

    Dear @erinmunson,

    Thank you for your response.

As to the Radio and Checkbox question types, please let me explain how they actually work in detail so that you can understand them better.
The calculation methods are quite different.
You have chosen the Checkbox question type which is why the points are calculated one to another.

I want to mention, that there are no correct or incorrect answers in the case of the Weight/point calculation method.
You can give points to the answers and decide whether you want to make the answers correct or incorrect.
In order the system can work correctly, you just tick one of these answer options as correct. However, all the answer options can be correct (at the moment, in the case of the Radio question type).

So, you can choose the Radio question type and set By Weight/points for the calculation method of the quiz.

As to the Hide quiz score option, we have checked and couldn’t find any issue in this regard. The score was hidden.
    See the screenshot: https://ibb.co/RDxrGkm

By the way, we have checked and noticed that you are currently using a WP Rocket Cache plugin. The issue may be connected to the cache.

So, firstly, you can make a DB backup for your safety (you can use UpdraftPlus).
Then, clear all the caches and check whether the issue persists or not.

After clearing the caches, please try to check the case with either the Incognito mode or another browser/device. Then, let us know about the outcome.

By the way, as you are currently using the PRO version of the plugin, please contact us via this form for premium support and further investigation of your case. Our customer care specialists will always be happy to help you.

    Thank you.
