Quizes return error message

Every quiz I make results in this:
“There was an error starting the quiz. Please return to the lesson and begin again.”

We seem to be having some issues with a lot of caching plugins since our security update for the sessions library we use. I’m sorry about this and I’m having a really hard time figuring out how to resolve as most sites have no issues but some due and I haven’t been able to hammer out the fine details of what’s going on and haven’t any luck reliably reproducing these errors.
Can you please gather the information in the sticky on this forum and reply back so I can use that information to investigate further and hopefully come to a swift resolution.

I’m comparing version 3.7.7 and newest 3.8.1.
Version 3.7.7 work as expected. After updating to 3.8.0 and then to 3.8.1 there is a problem with loading quizzes. Environment is the same.
I’m testing with Wp Super Cache or Wp Fastest Cache and Autoptimize.
I can’t see errors in js or php.

I’ve created a fake account via your sample course import and gotten myself into the quiz there without any issue. I skipped a well-known solution to this issue because I’ve been pulling my hair out attempting to fix an actual issue related to cookies and sessions on another server. I think your issue is unrelated and can be solved by following the steps outlined here:

This usually happens to admins who create a quiz and then click the “view quiz” button from the admin panel.
The quiz needs to be connected to a lesson, you need to be enrolled in the course, and you need to navigate to the quiz the way a student would (from the “Take Quiz” button on the lesson it’s attached to.
