Rackspace files copy error

when running backups on larger sites, i get the following error in the logs when the program attempts to copy over the backup file:

ERROR: Rackspace Cloud API: Operation timed out; check RAXSDK_TIMEOUT value

any suggestions on how to increase the timeout? thanks.
