Random images with scheduled posts
-
Removed completely both from WP zand FB and freshly installed 1.9.5, authorised with FB. Had two scheduled posts.
When the posts are published to FB, it is not the images within the post that shows in FB snippet thumbs, but just a random bunch of thumbs of images from various location in the blog; some from side widgets, others from older posts. There is even a thumb of an unattached image from the media library!

Can you please turn on the advanced diagnostics and do a post and see what images it thinks are in the post. Wordbooker pulls the post through the WordPress post rendering functions so only images contained within the body of the post are found by Wordbooker.
Thanks, I will do that but clearly it does not find the images in the post but rather some random images from the media library.
Here is the original post as it appears on the blog: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/6293/actualq.jpg
And this is as posted on FB: http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/7149/34980691.jpg
The text is correct but images are way off. One thing consistent about thumbs that appear on FB is that they are all from unattached images
But as Wordbooker only processes the body of the post (which is easy to confirm if you look in the code) and from the Featured Image(s) for the post, there is no obvious way from images from outside the body of the post to end up going to Facebook which is why I said turn on the diagnostics and we’ll see what it its telling Facebook to grab as images. If I could have a link to one of the original blog posts that would help.
Sorry, not possible to give blog or FB location, both are non-public.
Tonight I turned on advanced post diagnostics and made a normal post and a scheduled post. There is no problems with the normal post, but for scheduled post it is just some random images from the media library used as thumbnails for the FB post.
Extended log covering the normal and scheduled posts is pasted at http://pastebin.com/WcjTJKsX, installations settings are at the top of the paste.
Let me know if I can do anything else to help diagnose. Thanks.
if I cant see the source for the blog post then I can’t help. I see Wordbooker finding images but unless I can see the html source for the page I can’t determine why Wordbooker is finding images that you claim are not in the post.
OK, thanks for looking in to it anyways. FWIW, images posted does not appear in anywhere in the source of the post’s page or home page, and it only happens with scheduled posts. Will just have to live w/o scheduled posts; good enough that it posts normal posts correctly.
OK scratch that, TWO of the thumbs posted to FB DOES appear in two different side widgets. Rest of the FB thumbs are definitely not though, just thumbs of some unused/unattached images from library.
But DO those images appear in the diagnostic trace when its turned on? Thats why I need to see the source of the page because Wordbooker uses the WordPress internal post formatting function to get the post contents as it appears on the screen (without the side bars and widgets). So I cannot understand how its finding images that are not embedded in the post body
Yes, they do appear in diagnostic trace. In the diagnostic trace I pasted to pastebin, there are 10 lines with message “Post Images: [image URL]”. Five of these are for the normal post and other five for the scheduled post. As you can see from the folder names of the latter, they are images some of them were added to library ages ago.

The names of those images that show up in FB, as given in debug trace are:

texture-150×112.jpg
goog-150×66.jpg
xxxxx-xxx-xxx1-150×100.jpg
i13-139×150.jpgOK so can I see the entire HTML for the page – because I cannot work out why Wordbooker is finding images that you say are not in the main body of the page.
Right now you refuse to give me any urls for anything so I have to go purely on what you claim. You are the only person reporting this problem and your unwillingness to let me see the blog in question makes it just about impossible for me to work out what is going on.
Without access to the urls and the original posts I cannot help you any more
Do you need the individual post’s source?
Never mind. It does not worth the effort you or I putting into this issue. I’ll live w/o scheduled posts.
