Random order?

    Great plugin! Is there any easy way to add random sort order to layouts (lists particularly)? Or any plans to include randomization as an option? I have a list of a particular post type that I’d like to randomize the order for on each load.

    Hey @mlavanish, right now there is not a way currently.

    While it’s easy enough to provide an option and add a random option (WordPress supports this), it get more tricky with pagination.

    What happens when you goto page 2, and then back to page 1 (if you have pagination).. You wouldn’t want it to be randomised again – it gets a bit more tricky, but certainly not impossible…

    I’ll have a look into and see if it’s something we can add 🙂

    Thanks! I appreciate you looking into it. Even if pagination was disabled for random search results, that would still be helpful for anyone who wants to make a short list of random posts or other content. I, for instance, have a list of sponsors I would like to show, with their logos, but don’t want to show preference for any 1 sponsor by placing them always in the first position, or penalize anyone by listing them last. Random order of those 10 or so items would treat everyone equally.
