    Hi

I have a big problem with the league table. If it wont work, we won’t go further with sportspress.

The ranking in our sports ist:
    1. Points
    2. If some teams have the same quantity of points:
    a) Score from the direct matches of the teams involved
    b) Basket difference from the direct matches of the teams involved
    c) Better number of baskets obtained from the direct encounters of the affected teams
    d) Basket difference from the whole championship
    e) Better number of baskets achieved throughout the championship
    f) penalty throwing

So is it possible that sportspress compare the teams with same point quatity?
You can see in the link, that #7 Neukirch/Roggwil 1 and #8 Dussnang-Oberwangen 1 both have 12 pts.
    But the match results were:
    1. Game: Dussnang-Oberwangen 1 won by 8:3
    2. Game: Neukirch/Roggwil 1 won by 5:2
That means that Score from the direct matches are +5 in case of Dussang and just +3 for Neukirch/Roggwil.

This means, that the league table should look like this:
    #1 Altanu-Kreuzlingen
    #2 Zihlschlacht
    #3 Neukirch/Roggwil 2
    #4 Eggethof 1
    #5 Oberaach 1
    #6 Affeltrangen 1
    #7 Dussnang-Oberwangen 1
    #8 Neukirch/Roggwil 1

    #9 Zihlschlacht 2
    #10 Eggethof 2

Is there a solution for, otherwise we will have to stopp with Sportspress.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out!

We can use the head to head results (win / loss) as the last tie breaking criteria.

Since you have more criteria you can use just points, then activate the head to head tie breaker.

For the further adjustments (some we don’t have, such as points difference in head to head games) you can use the league table adjustments.

    Thanks!

    Hi
Thank you for your fast response.

Yes i tried the head to head thibreak but im not sure if it really work. In the example I showed you, it worked.

I made a test league table and tried it again:

But it seams it doesnt work for the test table.

    Thanks

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

In that case, all teams have the same points, which may confuse SportsPress. For example, if 1 won 2 but lost to 3, how should we order them?

In these edge cases, you may need to rely on the table adjustments.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    The order should be:
    1. Team 3
    2. Team 1
    3. Team 2

    Because of:
    1. If you compare Team 3 head to head with team Team 1, you see that they won 7-8 (comparing goals from both games) so the have +1.

    2. Team 1 and Team 2 has the same results from both games 6-6. But generally team
Team has the better overall score:
    Team 1: 13 goals
    Team 2: 8 goals

It would be great if the tiebreaker could evaluate this 🙂

Actually I need to adjust the table manualy.

    Thank you

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

The tiebreaker can only check which team won, it won’t check the score difference. And it can only compare two teams if there’s more the system may get confused.

Check what happens if you have just two teams tied, it should work fine.

    Thanks!

    Hi

You are right. It seams to work with comparing only two teams.

It would be great to have the following options:
    – Tiebreaker for multiple teams with same points.
    – The Tiebreaker should be able to set in another row 7n the ranking e.g: 1. Points, 2. Tiebreaker, 3. Goalsfor

I have seen there are some other users with the same kind of problems.

Thank you very much. Very nice plugin!

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

Indeed, these would be great additions! We are looking into the second one already, but the first one is tricky (like I said, how would it define which one comes first if one team wins one match and loses the other one).

    Thanks!
