Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Indeed, the Automatic Periodic Table Import feature module is only part of TablePress Max. With that, it’s possible to automate the import of a Google Sheet.
Of course, you can still do that manually. Just go to the normal “Import” screen, paste in the Google Sheet URL again (I highly recommend using the CSV sharing URL), choose “Replace existing table”, and select the existing table.
Best wishes,
Tobias
Thank you for your quick answer Tobias! Unfortunately after copying the (csv) link it still doesn’t update. I am using the same google sheet link again right?
I remember a while ago this all worked by using an “automatic update” plugin. As I am using this for only a few tables and for private purposes it doesn’t worth it 🙁 At least it would be cool to have a one off fee for let’s say 1 domain and 10 tables… something like this…
Cheers,
Joe
Hi,
Yes, you would use the same URL again for the import. Now, do you mean that the import is not working at all, or that replacing a table is not working? Are you getting any error messages? And when you simply try opening that link in the browser (ideally in a “Private”/”Incognito” browsing tab), do you directly get the CSV data, without any Google user interface and without being asked to log in?
And you are right, the automatic periodic table update feature used to be part of a TablePress Extension (which essentially was a separate plugin on top of TablePress). This has been discontinued and is no longer available, as the new version, which is directly embedded into TablePress Max is more powerful and reliable. Note that there are one-time purchase options (i.e. lifetime licenses) available as well, but I do understand that these might not be a good fit for small personal websites without a budget.
Regards,
Tobias
