    Hy every body.
First of all excuse my poor english!
    AIOWPS version : 4.2.9
I made a mistake and deactivate unintentionally AIOWPS. As I activate AOIWPS again a question arise :
“Would you like All In One WP Security & Firewall to re-insert the security rules in your .htaccess file which were cleared when you deactivated the plugin?”
I reply “Yes” and then a warning appear :
“AIOWPS encountered an error when trying to write to your .htaccess file. Please check the logs.”
Nothing in the logs. Authorization on .htaccess is 0644.
How I can authorise AIOWPS re-insert the security rules in htaccess. I do not have backup recently htaccess.
    Thanks for helping.

Hi, you might need to check the folder permissions from the sever side via FTP?

@mbrsolution : thanks for your fast reply.
I checked folder permissions. All is OK. But i noticed that owner and group in permissions of htaccess are both 0. For example permissions on wp-config.php are :
    -rw-r–r– 43 600
I notice also there is no # BEGIN All In One WP Security section in htaccess!
Who can change owner and group on htaccess me or the provider?
Thank you for your interest in my problem.

@miflon, if you have access to your server, then you should also be able to change the file permissions. If you are not sure speak to your host. They should be able to fix this permission issue for you.

Let me know if you need more help. If you don’t need more help, can you mark this support thread as resolved.

    Thank you

I can’t change the file permissions by myself. I spoke to my host (1&1). He can not or will not change owner/group of htaccess. No solution that way.
I wonder if I can create a file with notepad++, move that file to the root of my site, erase the old htaccess and rename the new one. Is it possible safely?
    Thank you for your help.

Hi, I don’t see why not. Give that a try and report back with your outcome.

    Hi mbrsolution.
I tried to remove .htaccess from the server. I do not have the rights for this action.
So, I know the reason of this issue. I’m in contact with 1&1 to switch from safe mode to default mode. I therefore mark this topic resolved.

I am glad you know what the issue is.

    Enjoy the plugin……
