Reader Revenue Manager

Reader Revenue Manager
I already have my publication installed and configured in the “Reader Revenue Manager”
But when I access the plugin in WordPress, it asks me to do the initial configuration of a new publication instead of searching for the settings of the existing publication.
…
Já tenho minha publicação instalada e configurada no “Gerente de Receita de Leitores”
Mas quando acesso o plugin no WordPress, ele pede para eu fazer a configuração inicial de uma nova publicação ao invés de buscar as configurações da publicação existente

Thanks for getting in touch @alexvitola. To troubleshoot this and determine why you’re being requested to set up a new publication, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- A screen recording of your experience. You can use a service such as Loom or Zight to share a screen recording, while using the same form to share this privately.
Within the screen recording, it would be great to view your full experience. I ask as it’s possible that you’re being directed to Publisher Center from a different Google account if logged in via your browser, your WordPress site address doesn’t fully match or something else. Within the recording, please also demonstrate what you see when clicking on the publication dropdown from the Reader Revenue Manager page, as highlighted here.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you!
I sent it privately via the form
Many thanks for sharing @alexvitola. Based on the recording you shared, I suspect your publication isn’t approved yet, or the URL assigned to your publication is incorrect. To troubleshoot this further, please share the following:
- A screenshot or recording of what you see from Publisher Center when accessing “More options > Settings > Activate” (screenshot)
- What is the URL you see when accessing the publication settings (screenshot)?
Fee free to share another recording demonstrating both of the above using our private form once more if preferred.
I do suspect your publication isn’t approved at this time. What you should see within Site Kit during setup, if the URL matches and your publication is approved, if an option to select the existing publication (screenshot).
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
The publication is active and I have been using it for some time, more than years.

Thanks for the update @alexvitola. As the following appears in your Site Health information, I may need to check this with the team before reporting back to you:
reader_revenue_manager_publication_onboarding_state: noneBefore I do check this with the team, can you perform the following, and then check Reader Revenue Manager setup once more. I say this as it’s possible that the site URL being sent to Publisher Center doesn’t match your site URL, given there seems to be one site URL using https (Secure) and the other non secure (http). I was able to review this from your public REST endpoints.
- Visit your WordPress general settings page (Settings > General)
- Ensure both your “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” user https, as opposed to one of them set to http.
- Log back into your site if requested
Let me know how you get on with the above, or ask if you have any questions. Thank you.
I checked the WordPress settings (all settings are using https) and even reset the settings for the entire site kit. I was able to redo all the connections, except for Reader Revenue Manager.

Hi @alexvitola ,
I can now see both URLs are https now also when checking your public REST endpoints (screenshot). As highlighted yesterday, one was appearing as insecure for some reason (screenshot).
To troubleshoot this further, can you reset Site Kit and set up the plugin once more? Note that by doing so, you’ll need to reconnect all previously connected modules once more. When connecting Reader Revenue Manager, please share whether you’re able to complete successfully this time, or whether you run into the same issue as described previously.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
I have this same issue. Reader Revenue is fully integrated, working, and the CTAs are loading; however, Google Site Kit says that it still needs set pup.
@douglaskarr Thanks for chiming in. If you’d like to open an individual support topic and share your Site Health information (referencing that support topic), I can inspect your setup.
I’ll keep an eye out for your topic. Thank you.
@alexvitola Just to let you know that in some cases, the site that was added to a users Reader Revenue Manager may not match that’s defined within their WordPress settings. We checked your site with the team and indeed it looks like based on what was passed from your site at one stage didn’t match the protocol, this may be causing the issue with the module not connecting.
What you can do to ensure you can complete set up, is follow the steps below:
- Visit the following publication settings in Reader Revenue Manager: Manage organization page > Publication Settings > Publication URLs > Additional URLs > Add URL
- Add in your site URL without the https protocol (
http://www.yoursite.com) – replacing theyoursitereference with your own. - Click on “Save”
- Attempt the set up Reader Revenue Manager within Site Kit once more
Let me know how you get on with the above. Thank you.
Thanks, James… that did the trick. I updated my publication URL with https:// and then it connected fine. Thanks!
It worked when I removed the https://www.mysite.com and put just mysite.com (without the http or https and without the www)
🙂 Thanks !!!!!
Glad to hear it @alexvitola and @douglaskarr. Appreciate the update.

Smart move! I’ll keep that in mind should others report the same. It’s possible that a URL without a protocol may cover both scenarios. I’ll check this with the team.
I’ll close this support topic, but do reach out if you have any further queries on this. Best of luck.
