Everytime I create a new post or Download (using Download Manager), all Functions and Roles are “Default: No”. That’s exactly how I wanted to be, because I’m going to release it only to specific Groups, and for that, the {All} Function must be blocked.

But when I publish it, they all get “Default: Yes”.
Now… I’ve read a post explaining that this happens because “Before you publish the post, it is considered to be an unpublished draft. After publishing, it becomes readable.”

That makes sense, but I would like to change that setting. My client is going to publish a lot of articles and downloads and I’m trying to keep it as simple as possible to them. That would include NOT having to change {ALL} to “Blocked” every single time they need to publish something.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks in advance.

Your simplest and cleanest solution is to set the post visibility to Private. This can be done manually with the standard WP publish metabox or automated with PP Pro extensions (or possibly other plugins I’m not aware of).
