I changed the cookie notice banner on all websites I maintain for customers because your CSS code sucks.
I changed the CSS by hand for every damn website. Now you push an update which overwrites all custom CSS I created???!! I am so damn pissed right now. How can you just overwrite my code? Come on! Now I have to change everything again. Thanks for the plugin, but really no thanks for the [ redacted ] move you just made.

The update just resets all custom set CSS and text for the Opt-out Message.

The text gets cut on the screen edge. The layout is ugly.
I fixed all, and now it got reset on all sites.No. Not the additional CSS.

A plugin in my opinion should
– not just change or overwrite custom code without warning
– be tested by devs before pushing an update
– should be OK to install without testing it in a sandbox WP install
– not break stuff if customers update stuff on their own resulting in more work for the website creatorI am glad I had a backup of the code and all I had to do is log in to all my customers websites and change the code again and change minor stuff like colors, font styles, links, shapes…
If I know that your next update will destroy my code again and screws up the cookie banner for all my customers, I should really uninstall your plugin before my customers update stuff again.
“All of this doesn’t justify your aggressive approach, though.” – my feedback was not nice, but it was honest. I apologized for being rude – and if it would not be a lot of work (looking for alternatives and bla bla bla) I would uninstall all of your stuff on any website I created or maintain.
