reCAPTCHA bug

I am having a issue with the reCAPTCHA. The reCAPTCHA shows and does its verification. The reCAPTCHA then shows as successful in terms of the green tick but when pressing the register button the first time a message in red shows “invalid reCAPTCHA”, although the reCAPTCHA was actually successful. At this point the click event has been consumed so a second click on the register button is required which then progresses and a red message shows sending … and then successfully registers the user. If I put in the wrong reCAPTCHA the flow works as expected and stops the user from registering.
