    Hello.

I get a error message on reCAPTCHA (even though I’ve set my form to use Turnstile). Removing the use of Google’s reCaptcha would be great, as I’m trying to move away from reCaptcha where possible.

What’s more is that I get the “Cloudflare Turnstile verification failed, please try again later.” error.
I’ve triple checked the site keys in WPForms -> Settings and they do match that in my Cloudflare Turnstile Widget.

form submissions emails do not reach my inbox. I’ve double checked that they are set to go to the site admin email.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi @shoppingkim,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand you’re experiencing a few issues with your WPForms form: a reCAPTCHA error message despite using Turnstile, a Cloudflare Turnstile verification failure, and emails not reaching your inbox. I’m happy to help troubleshoot these problems.

Let’s tackle these one by one:

    Google reCAPTCHA Error:

It seems a Google reCAPTCHA is being added to your form through an iframe (screenshot), even though you’ve configured Turnstile. Looking at the Page Source, this is likely coming from your “meadiavine-trellis” theme, not WPForms itself.

To fix this, you’ll need to disable the Google reCAPTCHA within your theme’s settings. Look for options related to forms, CAPTCHA, or spam protection in your theme’s customization area. If you’re unsure where to find these settings, your theme’s documentation might be helpful.

    Cloudflare Turnstile Verification Failure:

I wasn’t able to reproduce the Turnstile error on my end. It’s working correctly for me, and here’s a screenshot demonstrating this.

This suggests the issue might be related to your browser extensions.

Try opening your form in an incognito/private window or a different browser entirely. This helps rule out any browser-specific issues. If Turnstile works in incognito mode, try disabling your browser extensions one by one to identify the culprit.

    Email Delivery Issue:

I’m sorry you’re not receiving form submission emails. Let’s make sure everything is set up correctly:

    • Check Notification Settings: First, double-check your form’s notification settings. This is where you tell WPForms where to send the emails. Here’s a helpful guide. Make sure the “Send To Email Address” is your correct site admin email.
    • Improve Email Deliverability with SMTP: WordPress emails sometimes get flagged as spam because they aren’t authenticated like emails from dedicated email services. Using an SMTP plugin can fix this. Here’s a guide with a list of recommended SMTP plugins and how to set them up

Could you please check if these steps resolve the problems? Let me know if you have any more questions or need any assistance! I’m here to help!

    Thanks!

    Hello Ralden,

Thanks for the suggestions. Just wanted to keep this thread alive while I work out the recaptcha issue. Hoping to follow up shortly.

The Trellis theme does not contain functionality for iframes, contact forms or captchas. This is not coming from Trellis.

    Hi @feastdesignco,

    Thanks for the information!

    Hi @shoppingkim,

Looking at your form, I see that Google reCAPTCHA is no longer present (screenshot).

I’ll keep this topic open for the next few days while I wait for your confirmation that the issue is resolved and to see if you need any further assistance with your form.

    Thanks!

    Hi @shoppingkim and @feastdesignco,

I noticed that Google reCAPTCHA has reappeared in your form, and there is an “ml-form” element below your WPForms forms with Google reCAPTCHA — here’s a screenshot for reference.

Since WPForms only allows one CAPTCHA to be set under WPForms » Settings » CAPTCHA, and I understand you have configured Cloudflare Turnstile, the Google reCAPTCHA in your WPForms form is likely being added by some other code on your site.

I couldn’t find any plugin related to “ml-form,” which leads me to believe that the Google reCAPTCHA is probably associated with the “meadiavine-trellis” theme.

When you have a chance, please try following the steps in WPBeginner’s detailed guide on troubleshooting WordPress to see if it helps resolve the issue.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestions so far.

I’ll be reviewing for that “ml-form” and will have to write back.

    Hi @rsouzaam,

    Developer here for Trellis.

I can confirm again that there is no code for “ml-form” or captchas or Cloudflare Turnstile in the theme.

This issue is not coming from Trellis.

    Hi @shoppingkim,

I see that Google reCAPTCHA is still showing up in your form.

When you have a chance, could you please share the details from WPForms > Tools > System Info (screenshot)? This info will help us try to figure out what’s going on and give you more guidance.

    Thanks!

    Hi @shoppingkim,

Thanks for sharing the System Info details.

I created an environment to try to reproduce the site. You can see the System Info details here: https://a.supportally.com/n/Ki5Q6l.

However, I could not reproduce the issue.

Here are some points I recommend you check:

    1. I see that Spectra allows Google reCAPTCHA integration under Spectra > Settings > Integrations (screenshot). Please verify if you are using this setting.
    2. Since you’re using the Classic Editor plugin, please open your page under Pages > All Pages, click on the Code tab, and search for “ml-form” (screenshot). Then, try removing the code related to “ml-form” from the page, save it, and check if the issue persists. As I could not find “ml-form” listed among the plugins in the System Info, this might be custom code on your page causing the issue.

In case the issue persists, please try using the steps in WPBeginner’s detailed guide on troubleshooting WordPress to see if it helps resolve the issue.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @shoppingkim,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now.

I also noticed that your form no longer has Google reCAPTCHA displayed, similar to your newsletter “ml-form” form (screenshot).

But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
