    Hi,

We installed the Advanced Google Recaptcha plugin to block bots from spamming the checkout form. However, since its installation, we’ve received reports from users not being able to complete the checkout process.

One thought one of my colleagues has made is that when the user gets a reCaptcha error, one of these two scenarios occur:

    1. They see the error but nothing else happens after that and they cannot proceed to the next page.
    2. They don’t see the error but can somehow proceed to the next page to enter their credit card details but since they got the reCaptcha error, they cannot fill out their credit card details.

Steps that the user would take from check out to paying

    1. Go to the link I provided
    2. Fill out personal information
    3. Click on continue to payment
    4. Fill out payment details

Do you have any idea of what we can check or what could be going on? We’re using Google Recaptcha v3.

Thanks. Let me know if you need more info.

Google reCAPTCHA v3 uses a spam score to determine if it will allow the user to pass or not and if they don’t meet the threshold they won’t be able to continue.

It also requires JavaScript to be enabled so if they have an extension that blocks that then they will not be able to pass the reCAPTCHA check.

Thanks. So it seems like there’s a chance that false positive cases are getting reported or there is the odd user who has disabled JavaScript.

Could switching to Recaptcha v2 mitigate these cases? At least the false positive cases.

False positives, yes, but no JavaScript will still prevent it from working.
