My contact form has suddenly started responding with “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” in an orange box. Flamingo reports this as suspected spam due to lack of reCAPTCHA response token. I have tried resetting Google keys, and changing to different template but it still does not work. It was OK before.

It might be related to the problem. I recommend you try doing it.

I thought I would need to wait until v 6.1 of Contact Form 7 (currently at 6.06)?

No, you don’t need to wait. Actually, the reCAPTCHA modules in 6.0.6 and 6.1 have no difference. I’ve confirmed you can safely connect reCAPTCHA keys to a Google Cloud project with the current version of the plugin.
