Hello @angelajean,
I’ve analyzed the requests in your Anti-Spam logs. It looks like your site has a caching solution and it’s interfering with our plugin.
Please do the following:
- WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Advanced settings →
→ set the “Set cookies” option to “Auto”;
→ set the “Use Anti-Spam by CleanTalk JavaScript library” option to “On”;
→ Save Changes.
- Set the cache update time on the site to no more than 24 hours (if there is such an option). Then clear all the cache on your website.
Did it help?
I have made the changes. I still can’t see the comments that the system has sent to me.
However, something else seems really off. When they were helping me troubleshoot yesterday, the tech was able to leave a comment with no problem. I got the notification in my email and the comment existed in WP admin and on the post.
These other comments all show up with no email address, no url, and for “Comment” only the digit “5”. Is there some kind of spam or scam going on?
Angie
Hello @angelajean,
I analyzed your anti-spam logs but could not find the mentioned comments in there. For now, I recommend you to deactivate the Anti-Spam plugin for a while to check if it’s causing the issue.
Please contact us about the results.

For the past month, I have been receiving emails from WP Admin about comments that are showing up on my website. But when I go to review those comments, they do not exist. I have a list of several comments:
<span style=”background-color: rgb(240, 240, 240); font-family: "Courier 10 Pitch", Courier, monospace; font-size: 0.8rem;”>You can see all comments on this post here:https://notyouraverageamerican.com/first-woman-bird-guide-mindo-ecuador/#comments

You might notice that I run a bilingual website using WPML. I have checked to see if these comments exist in either language. They do not. I also noticed that all of these messages list the comment simply as 5.
I have spoken with my host to help me troubleshoot and they believe it has something to do with Clean Talk. Is there someone on the team who can help me troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide,
Angie
