Recent problems with upgrading from CVS

    I haven’t been able to track down a problem I have been having the past few days. It my be a virus or an offending program but from time to time the files in my database get trashed upon writing. I have been able to reboot, delete the database files and re-enter them – but have no clue what is happening or why. On running upgrade I get 15 or so errors like:
    Database error: [Error on rename of ‘.\wordpress\wp_posts.MYI’ to ‘.\wordpress\#sql2-71c-2.MYI’ (Errcode: 17)]
    ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD INDEX ( post_name )
    Which I assume means the upgrade failed. What are all these #sql… files I am getting? Better yet, anyone know what is going on?
    Also, with the most recent CVS update I get a parse error on line 163 of options.php in Options|Link Manager.

    I analyzed each of the tables and they all came back OK, but I dare not hit “repair” table or I get the error mentioned above. I don’t care what “they” say, I have never felt blissful in my ignorance!

    Well, I am still stumbling around in the dark. I went to an older version of phpmyadmin and upgraded mysql to 4.0.20a-nt-max on the chance either of them got trashed in a crash, but still cannot repair tables without getting errors (the tables still return OK when analyzed). I’ll say a little prayer in church this morning on the off chance that will help 😉

    Finally! Tracked down the problem. I have a file undelete program that was causing the conflict.
    Now I am on the hunt for why comments are now not showing up (somebody else has this problem I believe) and why, when I upgrade, all my plugins are deactivated (might make life easier if there was a “batch” activate) – but the worst is over.
