I’ve looked at several “vlog” themes and cannot decide what’s best. I eventually searched for Youtube playlist plugin and found this one. I like the idea of displaying playlists in this fashion and would like some suggestions on a theme. This site will display 70+ playlists of 12 videos each and I want to make certain the site/navigation is intuitive for users. Thoughts?

By the way, if I wind up using this plugin, I’d love to donate.

Hi @revived, I can’t recommend a theme, I’m not familiar with the latest themes out there.

The plugin should work with any theme. I have just released an updated version with support for YouTube Data API v3, allowing for better integration. The new shortcode uses the new CSS Grid specifications.

    Looking forward to your feedback.

Well how about a recommendation on how you would organize a site with the amount of playlists that I mentioned. How would you utilize the sidebar, etc. in any theme to provide the best user experience?

    Well, it depends.

If the playlists are all one niche, then they should go in separate posts, so 70+ posts. All posts should go in one category. If you have sub-niche topics, use tags. Use a category template which shows the posts as grid with a thumbnail.

If the playlists have different subjects/topics, use multiple categories. Use the sidebar only to showcase interactions, such as most viewed playlist (most viewed post), most voted, most commented.

Did you try the latest version?

I noticed that each video id needs to be added to the shortcode. I’ll have nearly 1,000 videos. Is there not an automated way to add playlists?

No, there is no automated way of adding them.

You could probably create a script to paste all URLs and extract the IDs and add commas.
