I’m not sure what you mean about how it would cut down on the number of auto-redirects. So, for example if the structure changes to included the month and the old URL was /2019/some-post-url and the new URL is /2019/06/some-post-url, how would recording the change help? There would still need to be a redirect from the old URL to the new one.
If the plugin recorded my URL change from
https://www.homenaturalcures.com//health-benefits-of-squash-seeds/
to
https://www.homenaturalcures.com/health-benefits-squash-seeds
and it created an entry in the auto-redirect (i.e change from “x” to “y”), then creating wrong re-directs by auto-redirect can be avoided.

Hey. I implemented this for posts but not for pages in version 2.21.0. Pages will have to come later.
