So my WPP started to not update itself since 2 days ago (for some reason).

I was trying to troubleshoot and I clicked “Clear cache button” at the backend, and all my data was wiped.

So, I was wondering if somehow I can recover the deleted views data?

The thing is that right now the views don’t update in the front end. But I can see that the data got wiped at the backend.

    If that makes any sense.

Unfortunately, no. Once you confirm that you want to get delete the data the plugin wipes it from your database for good (see relevant FAQ). If you have a recent backup of your database you may recover some of the data, otherwise you’re pretty much out of luck.

Please share your site’s URL and I’ll help you debug this issue. Also:

    1. Go to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts.
    2. Append &tab=debug at the end of the URL in the address bar of your browser and hit Enter.
    3. Share the contents of your Debug screen here.

I modified the widget in the sidebar and WPP refresh again.

The last question, I do have a recent database backup, how should I proceed to restore the data?

    Thanks again.

    I would:

    1. Create a temporary database and import the .sql dump there.
    2. Export WPP’s tables from the temporary database.
    3. Drop WPP’s tables from the original database.
    4. Import WPP’s tables into the original database.
    5. Delete the temporary database.
