from: [your-name] [email protected]
This is invalid for From field value. See Red Border Error Issue on WordPress 4.4.1.
1. It’s been working for years before this. 4.4.1 borked it. 🙂
2. [email protected] is a working, valid email.
3. My host checked it and said that the email isn’t even being generated, not just not being sent.
I believe it is more that your email needs to be in the < > brackets, as shown in the above linked page:
John Smith <[email protected]> — is how it should be setup, so
[your-name] <[email protected]> is what it should likely be.
Sorry to jump into a topic that isn’t mine but I have the same exact problem, after 4.4.1 update the contact form just crashed and it was working well a long time ago…
@heatherl – JDBeckett is right – the way you have setup the email address in your form is invalid.
When you fix that you still possibly won’t be able to send emails from Dreamhost via Gmail. Dreamhost has very tight email sending policies to control spam.
@rasmh – jumping in like you have is generally considered inappropriate in these forums. It’s better to create your own post.
