I’m using the Reddle theme for my website. Currently I have the default stylesheet uploaded.

It seems Reddle works fine in Chrome, but is incompatible with Internet Explorer 8. Only the first two to three items in the drop-down menu can be selected and the sidebar on the right crops/resizes pictures in a weird way.

However, I see other websites using Reddle that don’t have this problem. For example, http://threecleversisters.com/ does nog seem to be having this problem with the menu.

    Could anyone advise?

    This is my website: http://www.overamerika.nl/

    Thanks in advance.

  • If you’re not experiencing the IE8 issue on other sites running Reddle, then the first troubleshooting step would be to deactivate all your plugins temporarily. If the problem goes away, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

Have you made any edits to the theme files or added any custom CSS?

    Hi Kathryn,

    Thank you for your reply.

    – As you’ve suggested, I’ve deactivated all plugins I have
    – I haven’t made any changes or additions to the theme

Unfortunately, nothing has changed, the problem is still applicable.

Do you see the IE8 problems on this demo site?

    Hi Kathryn,

By a coincidence I was just browsing the Reddle demo. I DO NOT see the IE8 problem there. Strange.

Would it help troubleshoot if I reverted back my entire WordPress installation to default settings? (I’m guessing there’s an option to this)

Edit: This post can be ignored, the problem is still occuring, even when I disable the sidebar on the right.

Edit2: I’ve updated IE8 and now the problem seems to be resolved. I’m afraid I don’t know what version of IE8 I was using before, but with current version 8.0.7600.16385 it’s OK.

Great, very glad to hear it. If you can upgrade to an even more recent version of IE, that would be an even better solution, but I know some workplaces don’t allow it, sadly. IE8 doesn’t support many mobile-first design techniques, so many sites simply won’t look right in that browser.
